Open Positions needing to be filled on the Carnival Team! The Mason Jars Procurement SHADOW Team Member will assist our Mason Jars Procurement Lead this year, and take over the job next year. It is essential to one of our most popular booths, Mason Jars & More! In addition we need a Dolls Procurement SHADOW Team Member to assist our Dolls Procurement Lead this year, and take over the job next year. The Dolls Procurement Lead also handles the Doll Tea Party. Great job for someone who loves the Dolls Booth, and is a Hostess with the Mostest! Contact Kate Harney, 708-1227 or harney.katherine@insightbb.com if you are interested in either position!

LENT 4.5

A program of conversion which educates Catholic communities on issues of sustainability and social justice from a faith perspective, inspiring them to take practical steps in caring for God’s creation by using only their fair share of Earth’s resources. Lent 4.5 offers a faith-based response to the injustice, inequity and devastation of creation caused by rampant consumerism. It honors the good intentions Christians have to do something extra during Lent and directs the focus toward a conversion of heart that is concerned about environmental sustainability, social justice and spiritual fulfillment. Caring for creation and living more simply are an essential part of faith for those who follow in the footsteps of Jesus today. As one small part of the program, we will be offering a menu of different opportunities for large group activities at all participant parishes. (JUST show up to attend!) These include:

March 8 (Passionist Earth & Spirit Center) The movie “Flow” and water justice issues – 7‐8:30pm

March 18 (OL of Lourdes) “How can we save money on Energy?” – 7‐8:30pm

March 25 (Passionist Earth & Spirit Center)–Environmental Justice Tour of Louisville 6-7:30pm.
Reservations Required at 452.2749. Limited to bus space.

Consider one or all of the above to make this Lent a time to refocus our Christian lives. We will have a blog that our parishes will participate in: http://lent45.blogspot.com/2009/10/lent‐45.html

Admissions, Acceptance, and Tuition Policies

St. Agnes, a Catholic parish school, embraces and educates students, empowering them to lead faith-based lives.

St. Agnes Parish School is a Catholic school primarily for the children of active, registered parishioners of St. Agnes Church. St. Agnes School’s fundamental purpose is to fully integrate Catholic beliefs and values into the academic program offered to its students.

To be considered for priority admission to the school,

In the event that there are more priority admission applicants than the school is able to accommodate, acceptance will be based on a combination of factors, including:

Others eligible for admission, in order of consideration, include:

  • Final acceptance of any new student (Grades 1-8) at St. Agnes Parish School is contingent upon several factors in addition to the previously stated admissions policy.
  • The student must qualify academically. The school must be able to meet the academic needs of the student.
  • The parent must provide access to documentation of student’s previous satisfactory school performance, including a copy of the current and previous two years’ report cards and discipline records, permanent record, and all academic testing results, including any evaluation for learning differences.
  • Completed recommendation forms from the student’s present/most recent teachers and administrator must be submitted.
  • Acceptance of students is based on the school’s ability to meet the needs of the prospective student while continuing to meet the needs of the students presently enrolled in the class.

Tuition

An active parish family pays member tuition. The balance of the cost of educating a child is contributed by the parish. Each year a family must complete a stewardship card, listing donations of time, talent and treasure to the parish, and also demonstrate active parish membership by regular attendance at Mass, participation in religious, social, and outreach parish programs, and regular financial contributions to the Parish as indicated on the stewardship card. The stewardship card must be submitted by March 1 of each year in order to register for the coming year.

A Catholic non-parishioner who has a Catholic child and who is not a registered, active member of St. Agnes or of any Catholic parish for at least three full months before the first day of school will pay inactive/ non-member tuition for one full school year (from date of admittance) before being considered for member tuition. The parent and child must join the parish and become active parishioners (see above) upon acceptance into the school.

A Catholic parishioner or non-parishioner parent with a child not baptized in the Catholic Church or not sacramentally current will pay inactive/non-member tuition per child. Member tuition will be instituted provided:

Non-parishioners pay non-member tuition.

Financial Policies

Most fees, including those for book rentals, consumable curricular materials, library technology, sacraments, and central office assessment are included in the tuition. At the time of summer registration, fees for PTO, Booster Club, cafeteria, and bus will be collected.

Tuition is paid either in total on July 1 prior to the beginning of school or through automatic debit on the first of each month, July-May. The August BEE and children’s progress reports will not be made available if a family is not current with tuition. If tuition is not current at the end of the trimester, the children may not be allowed to return to school.

By May 1, the tuition must be paid in full. If tuition is not paid in full, the child will not receive the final report card. Eighth graders will also not be allowed to participate in eighth grade end-of-year activities or any graduation-related activities, including graduation itself. No transcript can be forwarded to another school for a child whose parent has a delinquent account.

Financial Assistance

Financial Aid is available to families who qualify. Application for financial assistance is done by filing the form and supportive documents with Private School Aid Service by the required date. These forms are available in the school office after January 1. Some assistance is provided by the Archdiocese, and other aid is parish-based. Families are notified of assistance awards in June.
