Current Volunteer Schedule - Download
There are still opportunities to share your gifts with our young people - contact Mary if you are interested!
Current activities:
- Sunday night youth groups that combine fellowship, prayer, and community building – Super Sloppy Sunday, Priests and Pizza, Open Gym
- Drop-in on first and third Wednesday of the month, two hours of unstructured time
- Service (community and parish) – parish picnic, Diabetes Walk, baking Christmas cookies
- Special events (one time larger events) – Six Flags, Daddy Daughter Dance, helping out with the Haunted Hayride?
- Mission trips and retreats
- Fundraising for large events
- Leadership development – teambuilding, CLI participation
How you can become involved:
All of these activates require the help of caring adults and parents; how involved you get depends on your schedule and comfort level.
We need:
- adult leaders for the youth groups and drop-ins to help set up games and snacks, lead or facilitate activities, plan a night….the choice is up to you
- adults who can commit longer chunks of time to help with service projects and special events (will often need to be drivers as well)
- behind-the-scenes help, such as stuffing newsletters or bulletins, sponsoring a youth to attend one of the costlier activities
- people to speak or lead an activity on a specific topic
- small group leaders or chaperones for a retreat or mission trip
- helpers for fundraising activities
- planners for youth events….The possibilities are endless!
Requirements: - You must enjoy spending time with teenagers.
- To be a driver, you must be at least 21 and have a valid license, insurance, and reliable car.
- All adults who volunteer with youth in the parish must have a criminal background check and complete the Safe Environment training provided by the Archdiocese. (links with information can be found by clicking the “GET INVOLVED” button).
- Please show up about 15 minutes early when you are scheduled to volunteer.
Please email or phone Mary if you are interested in becoming involved.
